You've got to the stage where an offer's been accepted which means the next step is considering a conveyancer to act on your behalf with the sale and/or purchase.
Most solicitors will provide you with a quote or estimate for using their services, but have you ever wondered why a firm figure isn't provided?
The estimate is given on the basis of the information provided by you to the solicitor at instruction stage (when you decide to go with them). If you're happy with the estimate then you will go ahead and 'instruct' them to act on your behalf. At this stage, the solicitor doesn't know if additional charges are applicable until they review the contract papers, hence why they only provide an estimate.
If additional charges are required then you will be notified by your case handler. No charges will be applied without your knowledge and we always recommend to read a solicitor's small print or Welcome Pack in-depth.
